Greenery, Textured Patterns, and Pretty Purple Hues: 2018 Wedding Trends

I confess…It's been a while since B.Mingled has blogged. The past year of 2017 has brought us the excitement of babies, parenting, new homes, and crazy 2017 business adventures. Social media has been low on the priority list, but with a little outside encouragement (my website manager told me I HAVE to get a better online presence) the crew is back to blogging with a renewed outlook on 2018. Be on the lookout for pretty ideas, a review of venues, client picts, and upcoming styles.

Here's a few of our top picks of trends for 2018:

Greenery, Garland, and Potted Centerpieces

As a fellow gardener, I LOVE incorporating all of the natural elements my backyard has to offer. We have seen a shift within the past several years to clients wanting farm-to-table food. Bringing in branches, vines, and fresh picked local flowers is carrying the same idea to our tabletop decor. Expect to see greens incorporated onto the front wall of bars, hanging from the ceilings, and terra-cotta planters flowing with soft sages and seeded eucalyptus. Utilizing wood products for escort cards, votive holders, and signs will also be popular.

Vibrant Colors and Laser Cut Patterns

I was searching the web one evening and came across this background setting featured on Style Me Pretty …expect to see more images and designs like this popping up in 2018.
Laser Cut Backdrop
Bright colors used as accent pieces, cocktail hour decor, and bridesmaids dresses will be stunning showpieces. Flowered patterns are BIG in 2018…expect to see them showing off in fancy hotel weddings and garden-styled affairs.

The pretty purple color of the year (Pantone's Ultra Violet) is lovely, romantic, and just plain fun. Who wouldn't want to hang out on a couch like the one pictured above while sipping cocktails with guests?

Lastly, the bridal party is shrinking! The number (and height) of the people standing in the front are downsizing. With anticipation of the upcoming Royal Wedding, Americans are expected to take a tip from the Brits and choose 1 or 2 individuals to be part of their big day and/or use children in the family instead to lead their way. The idea of "simplicity" plays a part and having the children parade down the aisle is a cute addition to the mix.

We'll be sure to post picts from our upcoming weddings to share some of our favorite trends and moments in the upcoming 2018 wedding season! Follow us on Instagram and Facebook to see more.

Cheers to 2018,
Senta
